Dissemination
KansABA Mass Email Service
KansABA is initiating a new email system to expand its ability to distribute necessary, informative, and relevant materials to its members en masse, as well as creating a systematic forum for more focused, individual communication between KansABA and its members. In turn, this will allow KansABA members to determine what information they feel is important to them as an individual and a professional. Following the opening of membership enrollment for the upcoming year KansABA will be disseminating, and wishes to receive, respective materials through email accounts associated with (a) KansABA Executive Council and membership information ([email protected]), (b) event registration information ([email protected]), (c) topics in professional development ([email protected]), and (d) topics in legislation ([email protected]). Although members may initially receive emails from each of these accounts, members retain the ability to unsubscribe from, or re-subscribe to, this content at any time. Unless otherwise noted, unsubscribing and re-subscribing can be completed by simply emailing the respective account.
Subsequently, outside entities may too communicate with KansABA members using the new mass emailing system. All content submitted from outside entities will be peer-reviewed to ensure compliance with KansABA's Mission. Additionally, all non-KansABA information will be distributed by KansABA on behalf of the outside entity. That is, at no point in time will KansABA distribute the personal information of its members, including email addresses. This service is available solely at the discretion of KansABA and KansABA does not endorse any outside entity. Outside entities wishing to use KansABA's mass emailing service will be asked to complete and submit the KansABA Request for Dissemination of Information.

KansABA Request for Dissemination of Information
Using KansABA's Mass Email Service
Outside entities wishing to communicate with KansABA members using KansABA's mass emailing system must meet the requirements to do so and have a KansABA Request for Dissemination of Information approved. Upon approval, payment will be required prior to the distribution of materials. Processing is initiated in order of submission.
Requirements
KansABA currently categorizes and distributes content in either Professional Development or Legislation. Content in Professional Development includes, but is not limited to, non-KansABA sanctioned upcoming conferences and seminars, job availabilities, and research opportunities. Content in Legislation1 includes, but is not limited to, local law and policy updates, solicitation of feedback and experiences from professionals for purposes of legislative change, and political initiatives. All submitted content will be peer-reviewed to ensure the content both fits under one of these two categories and is also in compliance with the KansABA's Mission; the Mission is as follows:
“KansABA's mission is to (a) advance the science and practice of behavior analysis, as well as its education and training; (b) address issues relevant to the science, practice, education, and training in behavior analysis; (c) maintain disciplinary, professional, and ethical standards in the science, practice, education, and training in behavior analysis; and (d) recruit and enhance interest in behavior analysis throughout the State of Kansas and the Kansas City metropolitan area ‐ Clay, Jackson, and Platte counties.” ‐ Article I, Section I of the KansABA BylawsMass emails will be distributed by KansABA on behalf of the outside entity. That is, at no point in time will KansABA distribute the personal information of its members, including email addresses. This service is available solely at the discretion of KansABA and KansABA does not endorse any outside entity.
1 = Legislative content may also be subject to enhanced review. This may result in a delay in approval and subsequent dissemination
Receiving Request Approval
Submitted Requests must include the following for consideration of approval by KansABA:
Although KansABA would like to be as prompt as possible with Request-to-approval turnover, the turnover time is ultimately dependent on, at minimum, the order of which the Request was received, the content submitted, and the status of any ongoing Requests.
All determinations of approval or denial are final and may not be appealed. Content must be considerably amended for resubmission. KanasABA does not assume fault or liability for responses, or lack thereof, to mass emails, or in the event that the email is filtered as spam. Online spam checkers are available upon an internet search.
2 = KansABA will copy-and-paste all content from the submitted Request into the distributed mass email. KansABA will do its best effort to ensure all content and formatting appear as submitted; however, there is no way to guarantee that this can be accomplished.
Payment
Payment will be due upon acceptance of the Request. In turn, dissemination of the outside entity’s materials will be completed within 10 business days of KansABA receiving payment. The cost for distribution of a mass email to one content area (i.e., either Professional Development or Legislation) is $25. A follow-up email will be automatically generated; however, additional emails must be re-submitted. Payment can be submitted via the KansABA website (www.kansaba.org). A preview of the email may be viewed prior to dissemination if the outside entity wishes. Approval of the finalized mass email must then be approved by the outside entity, which may further delay the disbursement of the email; however, edits to the mass email cannot be made following the initial submission of the Request.
Subsequently, outside entities may too communicate with KansABA members using the new mass emailing system. All content submitted from outside entities will be peer-reviewed to ensure compliance with KansABA's Mission.
